Or is it just way early to be evaluating these guys?

At this point in time I'm going with Manning -- If in fact he doesn't pan out 1) after this season or 2) after TC is gone then I would go with Phillip Rivers

Until; then I will support my teams QB

Let me start by saying that I think it's really hard to even bring Rivers into the debate at this point. He has only started one year, while both Manning and Roethlisberger have three years worth of starting experience. Rivers showed a lot of promise this past season, now we'll see if he can continue that success with a new head coach.

My favorite way to compare QB's is to compare their experience in big games.

Roethlisberger -- 5-1 in playoff games, 2 Conference title appearances, 1 SB ring
Rivers -- 0-1 in playoff games
Manning -- 0-2 in playoff games

Lest you think I'm leaving stats out of it, let's compare:

Roethlisberger -- better career completion % than either of the other two, much better career QB rating than Manning, better rookie season QB rating than Rivers. I count this past season as essentially Rivers first year starting. Roethlisberger has more yards than either of the other two. Again, unfair to Rivers, since he just became a starter this past year. However, Eli and Ben have played in exactly the same number of games, and while Eli has 200 more attempts, Ben has 500 more yards. Ben has a higher YPC average than either of the other two, with Eli coming in last. Ben has thrown 52 TDs to 43 INTs, Manning has thrown 54 TDs to 44 INTs and Rivers has thrown 23 TDs to 10 INTs. Roethlisberger is a proven commodity when it comes to late drives to win ball games. He played with exceptional poise throughout the playoffs during the Steelers SB run, including making some of the critical plays to seal the deal in the SB.

Roethlisberger thus far has been everything the Steelers could have dreamed of. He had a stretch of bad luck last year, but the second half of the season he played pretty good. He does need to show that he can take it to the next level and totally run an offense. Rivers is still new. He had a good campaign last season, and played pretty good in some tight spots, but he needs to show that he can play well when they take the shackles off. Manning has yet to show that he can be consistent, and has shown some real issues with his accuracy. Personally, I think the decision to keep Coughlin this past year was a really bad one and will continue to hinder Eli's development.

Between the three, I'd have to say Rothlisburger. Based on experience and and the fact that the Steeler's offense does'nt put alot of pressure on him.

Personally I'd take Rivers over Roth or Manning. Roth has the ring so it's hard to argue against him, but when it's all said and done I think Rivers could be the best of the three. He is surrounded by as good of talent as anybody in the NFL. Big arm, nice accuracy and moves in the pocket if he has to. He's only produced for one year so yeah he has alot more to prove but I like Rivers.

Sorry EFP but until Manning will stand in the pocket and not buckle under pressure in his face he will continue to be so/so. He looks great at times and other times he makes you go 'WTF was that'.

I went with Rivers because I hate the other two. No matter how good their stats are or how many games they win, if I hate a player, they suck.
