Final Mock Draft for the 2008 NFL DRAFT

1. Miami Dolphins- Jake Long (Offensive Tackle, Michigan)
Might not be the highest rated player on the Dolphins board but he is a very safe investment for the number one overall pick.

2. St. Louis Rams- Chris Long (Defensive End, Virginia)
A much needed threat off the edge that plays 100% on every play.

3. Atlanta Falcons- Matt Ryan (Quarterback, Boston College)
Ryan has the talent and measurables to be a solid NFL Quarterback. He is very accurate and a hard worker who will take to coaching, a welcoming change from what Mike Vick has been the last few years.

4. Oakland Raiders- Glenn Dorsey (Defensive Tackle, LSU)
An explosive three-technique DT with ideal first step quickness and a motor that never runs cold.

5. Kansas City Chiefs- Vernon Gholston (Defensive End, Ohio State)
A replacement needs to be found with the trade of Jared Allen.

6. New York Jets- Darren McFadden (Running Back, Arkansas)
The Jets lack any elite playmakers on offense and McFadden fits that bill.

7. New England Patriots via SF- Branden Albert (Offensive Guard, Virginia)
My top rated offensive lineman in the draft falls into the New England Patriots laps, potential left tackle.

8. Baltimore Ravens- Ryan Clady (Offensive Tackle, Boise State)
Even with the addition of Jared Gaither last year, Clady offers the Ravens a little more insurance if Ogden is done.

9. Cincinnati Bengals- Sedrick Ellis (Defensive Tackle, USC)
Ellis is a thickly built, stout defensive tackle who makes a living in opponents' backfields, either getting to the Quarterback or blowing up running plays before they start.

10. New Orleans Saints- Leodis McKelvin (Cornerback, Troy)
A coin-flip between cornerbacks Leodis McKelvin and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, but the edge goes to McKelvin as the safer pick.

11. Buffalo Bills- Devin Thomas (Wide Receiver, Michigan State)
Thomas can work the middle and would open up the passing game for Lee Evans, and second year Quarterback, Trent Edwards.

12. Denver Broncos- Keith Rivers (Linebacker, USC)
Rivers is a natural athlete who offers some youth to the Broncos aging linebacking core.

13. Carolina Panthers- Chris Williams (Offensive Tackle, Vanderbilt)
Has the ability to become a franchise left tackle and would allow Jordan Gross to kick over to his more natural right tackle spot.

14. Chicago Bears - Rashard Mendenhall (Running Back, Illinois)
The Illinois product would give some much-needed punch to the Bears rushing attack.

15. Detroit Lions- Derrick Harvey (Defensive End, Florida)
Pass rushers are always a position of need in Rod Marinelli's Tampa Two defense.

16. Arizona Cardinals- Jonathan Stewart (Running Back, Oregon)
A real bruiser who would gives the Cardinals a nice one-two punch in the backfield.

17. Kansas City Chiefs via Min.- Jeff Otah (Offensive Lineman, Pittsburgh)
The offensive line is in shambles and a potential LT via the Jared Allen trade is a good way to start the rebuilding.

18. Houston Texans- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Cornerback Tennessee
State)
If Rodgers-Cromartie slides this far, expect the Texans to jump all over him to pair with Dunta Robinson.

19. Philadelphia Eagles- Phillip Merling (Defensive End, Clemson)
With the release of Javon Kearse and age creeping up on Darren Howard, a stout end is needed to complement Trent Cole.

20. Tampa Bay- Brian Brohm (Quarterback, Louisville)
A Gruden favorite with the smarts and intangibles to run the west coast offense to perfection.

21. Washington Redskins- Kentwan Balmer (Defensive Tackle, North Carolina)
The Skins would love to nab DeSean Jackson here, but a lot of help is needed along the defensive line.

22. Dallas Cowboys- Mike Jenkins (Cornerback, South Florida)
With all the loses the Cowboys secondary took this off-season a corner is a must on draft day.

23. Pittsburgh Steelers- Gosder Cherilus (Offensive Tackle, Boston College)
Has the flexibility to play on the left or right side and would be a definitely upgrade of Transition Tagged tackle, Max Starks.

24. Tennessee Titans- Calais Campbell (Defensive End, Miami)
A bit of a reach, but Campbell's talent is undeniable, as is the Titans need for a defensive end.

25. Seattle Seahawks- DeSean Jackson (Wide Receiver)
Not your typical west coast wide receiver, but his deep speed adds a new dimension to the Seahawks possession passing attack.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars- Antonio Cason (Cornerback, Arizona)
A nice value at this point, plus you can never have to many corners when you play in the same division as the Colts.

27. San Diego Chargers- Jerod Mayo (Linebacker, Tennessee)
Mayo has been shooting up the draft boards, and the Chargers find an instinctive, athletic linebacker to fill a glaring need inside.

28. Dallas Cowboys- Limas Sweed (Wide Receiver, Texas)
A big physical receiver who could fit in well as a potential replacement for Terrell Owens.

29. San Francisco 49ERS- Dan Connor (Linebacker, Penn State)
A smart, blue collar player who would form a nice tandem with Patrick Willis inside and could fill the hole left by former ILB Derek Smith.

30. Green Bay Packers- Brandon Flowers (Cornerback, Virginia Tech)
A physical press corner who can work in the slot next year and eventually take over for Al Harris in the future.

31. New York Giants- Kenny Phillips (Safety, Miami)
Phillips has too much talent to get past the first round and he will fill a big need in the Giants secondary.

Round 2

32. Miami Dolphins- Chad Henne (Quarterback, Michigan)
33. St Louis Rams- Sam Baker (Offensive Tackle, USC)
34. Atlanta Falcons- Aqib Talib (Cornerback, Kansas)
35. Kansas City- Duane Brown (Offensive Tackle, Virginia Tech)
36. New York Jets- Quentin Groves (Outside Linebacker, Auburn)
